LUAP’s Pink Bear Print Achieves Triple Estimate at Christie’s Charity Auction
LUAP has once again supported the Terrence Higgins Trust by donating a print from his Pink Bear series to their annual charity auction at Christie’s. The piece, titled Pink Bear Is Coming To Town (2016), is an acrylic and screen print on Somerset White Satin Paper measuring 56cm x 76cm. It forms part of the Williams-Bear-G Print Edition and exemplifies LUAP’s continued use of art to engage with social causes.
The artwork was exhibited at Christie’s King Street galleries before being auctioned, where it exceeded expectations—selling for three times its listed price. All proceeds have gone directly to the Terrence Higgins Trust to support their essential work in public health and HIV awareness.
Founded in 1982, Terrence Higgins Trust was the first charity in the UK to be set up in response to the AIDS epidemic and has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV ever since. Today it provides care, advice and support to people in the UK living with or at risk of HIV and campaigns to eradicate stigma and discrimination.
