A Pink Spectrum at OXO Tower in Partnership with Harvey Nichols
LUAP reimagines repetition and colour with The Pink Bear at the OXO Brasserie Gallery
LUAP has unveiled a bold new installation at the OXO Tower Brasserie, transforming their viewing gallery with his iconic Pink Bear in a vibrant work titled The Pink Spectrum. The commission, organised by Laura from Artemea in collaboration with Harvey Nichols, invites viewers into a joyful, colour-charged space unlike anything previously shown at the venue.
Inspired by Andy Warhol’s Eight Elvises, LUAP reinterprets the motif through his own character, placing seven Pink Bears across the wall, each sporting a different colour of sneakers: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. The first bear, of course, wears red-bottomed shoes — the posh one. This playful nod to high fashion and chromatic harmony celebrates identity, individuality, and a touch of mischief.
The piece embraces repetition as a strength rather than a limitation. Through this mirrored sequence, LUAP taps into the meditative energy of pop art while layering it with his own narrative of personal journey and inner transformation.
Titled The Journey, the installation is also released as a limited print edition — 30 unique pieces plus 3 artist’s proofs — created using acrylic and screen print on Somerset White Satin Paper. Each print continues LUAP’s exploration of colour and consciousness through the Pink Bear’s evolving symbolism.
The final installation has been beautifully documented by Queen Mab Company, capturing the energy of the space and the reactions of those who pass through it. This project marks another chapter in LUAP’s growing exploration of space, identity, and shared emotional language through art.
