Art Meets Nightlife in London’s VIP Scene
London’s top VIP club DSTRKT has just unveiled a year-long residency with me, and the Pink Bear is right at the centre of it.
As part of the collaboration, I’ve created a bespoke mural directly onto the wall of Yaneff at DSTRKT, the restaurant connected to the club. Using a mix of pasted posters and spray paint, I built a one-off piece that merges the decadent with the decayed — fitting for the setting.
The pop-up exhibition features my latest series, Decadence — a body of work that explores beauty at the edge, touching on excess, collapse and everything in between. Alongside it is the Pink Bear, who continues to evolve as both a character and a concept. He’s not just a man in a costume. He’s an alter ego. A surreal figure suspended between fantasy and reality, innocence and corruption.
During the installation, we filmed a time lapse capturing the transformation from blank wall to immersive mural. The club has already started sharing the work and the Bear across their social channels, where he’s fast becoming a VIP fixture in his own right.
The whole thing feels like a live performance. The energy at DSTRKT — its music, design and atmosphere — echoes the themes in the work. It’s theatrical, heightened, a little absurd. The Pink Bear fits right in.
And this is only the start. The work will stay up for the next year, inviting an ongoing conversation between art, nightlife, and the strange, curated realities we choose to inhabit.
