Love Life in Shoreditch
My largest mural to date and a reminder to live fully
On Batemans Row in Shoreditch, I have just completed my biggest mural so far. It is titled Love Life and features the Pink Bear standing more than twelve metres tall across the side of a building. The work was made possible with support from Outside the Zone and marks my first large-scale hand painted street piece.
Love Life explores the concept that we are in control of our own destiny. That we hold our life in our own hands and we have the power to shape our life. So why not shape your life in a positive way and make it a happy one.
The message is direct and honest. We will all die sooner or later, that is the reality of life. So when one gets to the end, make sure that you have lived a great life and loved as many moments as you can. The love heart eyes symbolise that the person who died loved their life. And although it is sad they are gone, they made the most of their time on earth.
The mural is about reflection but also action. It is about recognising that we are responsible for how we live and what we leave behind. The Pink Bear does not look down in sadness. It looks out with energy and love and intent.
Painting this scale was a challenge but also a joy. The wall faces the street openly. Light, movement and weather all play into how the mural feels at different times of day. The Bear becomes part of the landscape. A figure for anyone passing by. A reminder that life is always happening now.
Shoreditch has always been a space for expression. Putting something of this scale into the city is a way of contributing to that energy. Love Life is not a slogan. It is an invitation. A moment to think, reset, and carry on with purpose.
Below are a few articles covering the mural.
